Ways Toward Effective Stretch Mark Cover Up

Discover a proven system for difficult scar and stretch marks removal

Use Topical Applications

Fortunately, there are anti-stretch marks lotions, creams and ointments available in the market today. Generally speaking, these formulations contain ingredients like vitamins and minerals, peptides and collagen as well as chemical and herbal components. Obviously, these are mixed and matched to provide the best results, which is significantly lesser stretch marks, of course.

However, you must be very careful as many of these over-the-counter stretch mark products cannot deliver on their claims simply because the ingredients are not scientifically proven for the purpose intended. You should do your research on the best stretch mark cover up products.

Often, too, you will be better off making your own cream. Just combine ¼ cup of aloe vera gel, ½ cup of olive oil, 5 vitamin E and 3 vitamin A capsules in a small jar and then store in the refrigerator for later use.

Use Cosmetics

While you are waiting for the topical applications to take effect, you can use cosmetics to cover stretch marks. This is, of course, applicable to stretch marks that are clearly visible even when you have clothes on like in the arms and thighs areas.

You can choose from either self-tanners or body cosmetics. If you choose self-tanners, be very careful that the skin tone is even all around your body. Otherwise, your efforts on stretch mark cover up will be in vain because your squiggly lines can be highlighted.

If you choose body cosmetics, then choose one that is one shade darker than your stretch marks. This way, you can blend in the colors with surrounding skin tone and, hence, cover up the squiggly lines better.

Use Clothes

And of course, you can use clothes to temporarily cover up your stretch marks! You need not wear baggy and saggy clothes for this purpose because you are covering up stretch marks, not flab. For example, if you have stretch marks on your stomach and yet you still want to wear appropriate swimwear, then a one-piece suit is the best for you. If your thigh area is the problem, then a sarong wrap is the best option for stretch mark cover up.

Use Your Dermatologist's Advice

Of course, the best method to hide stretch marks is to follow your dermatologist's advice. You may have to spend more money than on the over-the-counter creams and lotions but the results are often better, too.

You will be advised to either undergo laser treatments or skin exfoliation, among other medical treatments. Just keep in mind that results will vary from one person to the next even when you have the money to pay for many treatments at the doctor's office.

There are many ways to achieve good results in stretch mark cover up. You just need to find the best method that works for you although you can always combine all of these methods to suit your own preferences.
